Jay Bundy, PhD

Postdoctoral Fellow

I'm an experimental evolutionary biologist. To put it simply, I perform experiments that allow me to observe evolution-in-action. I work primarily with digital organisms – computer programs that replicate, mutate, compete, and evolve in virtual environments. Using computers allows me to work with populations that evolve for tens or even hundreds of thousands of generations rapidly. I use these experiments to test ideas about evolution that would be difficult to investigate otherwise. I’m also interested in evolution education, philosophy of science, and scientific applications of multimedia technology.
